My post of good deals

Don't you just LOVE finding a good deal??!??!

Especially when it is something you need?
And have spent countless hours in search of the perfect one?

Ha! Well, this week I just happened to find TWO good deals for myself. YEAH!

Anyway, this is a story in and of itself. Two weeks ago, our microwave blew up: A fire inside the top part and smoke coming out and up into our ventilation. Our house smelled so bad of electrical smoke and there was a lot of smoke upstairs from the fan being on. Emmalee, who has had recent lessons on what to do in a fire, was a little freakished out. I think she forgot the first part of the lesson of what to do in a fire. Stay calm!! "Get on the floor! We have to get out of the house! Don't open the door it might be hot!" Anyway, we all survived. :)
I was at Walmart a week later doing my shopping when I thought I would just look to see if they even carried under-hood microwaves. They did. They had one. On clearance for $170. I hadn't shopped around at all. I thought it was a good price, but didn't know for sure. I wrote down the deminsions that I needed but ended up leaving them at home. So I decided to buy it anyway and bring it back if it didn't fit or if I couldn't find a better deal. (Since it was the only one they had.) So I got in line to buy it and guess what??! It rung up at $75!! Now I knew that was a GREAT deal and only hoped that it would fit. And it does.

(It just isn't in yet. :) )

My second good deal of the week: a dresser! I have been looking off and on for a white chest dresser for Emmalee's room for quite some time. I've mostly been looking on craigs list, knowing that I would probably end up having to paint. I was at the DI and saw this white dresser that was perfect for a little girls room. It looked like it needed some paint touch ups and some of the drawers didn't pull out very well. But it looked like it was solid wood. I went home and stewed about it, looked on craigs list again, and decided to go back and if they still had it, I would get it. Well, they did so I bought it. It ended up being a great deal! Solid wood! And all the scuffs and funny marks on it came off with a little Ajax! Yeah! So I won't have to repaint it! And the drawers ended up being unattached so they just needed to be adjusted.

Here's some of the scuffs on it.

A little scrubbing and cleaning. . . .The finished project!

I think Emmalee is happy to have something to put her clothes in. (I think Addi is happy too.)

BFFs

I had 3 two year olds at my house for 2 hours. These girls had so much fun playing together! As you can tell in the picture, Addi was in heaven. Thanks for coming to play Makinze and Brooklyn!

Addi's first sentence

(that I remember anyway! Isn't that the way it goes with your 3rd?)
Anyway, Addi and Blake were playing upstairs. Then she comes downstairs crying her little eyes out and says to me "Blake not being nice!" I was like 'oh I'm sorry, but you just said a sentence!!! yeah!'

helping mom

So many leaves!! Totally worth all the wonderful shade we have in the summer though! The kids love helping raking up the leaves and then of course, jumping in them! Fun times in the fall.

Halloween

Here we all are on the BIG night. My little witches and my knight in shining armor! Love them!

Yes, I'm one of those 'fun' moms. :) I like halloween too.

All about me.

OK, I know I have dedicated this blog to my beautiful children, but this post is all about ME. :) Every year, all the girls in my family go on a trip. Depending on pregnancies and babes, a place is picked and everyone tries to go. First year to Park City, next to Jackson Hole, and then our latest trip to Seattle. It has been such a blast just relaxing, being away from hubbies and kiddos, and exploring around the area. This is a MUST for all girls, moms, and friends. :) Here's my latest trip: Of course included in ALL pictures of Seattle, the famous needle. The shoreline from a little boat excursion we went on. Me on the boat. All of us girls at the Old Spaghetti Factory. We took a tour of the underground streets of Seattle. This is one of the things we saw. See that mouse hiding behind that foot? The ceiling of the underground. Or the sidewalks of above. A really nice toilet for the underground. (No it was not used. But then we went into the restrooms and lo and behold, they had these toilets.) After the tour, we went to the Mueseum/Store of interesting things. This is a skeleton of a mermaid. Seriously. Two-headed lamb. This was probably one of the favorite places to visit. Boehm's Chocolate Factory. Need I say more? It really was a cool place to visit. This was in Boehm's house. A music player. Talk about huge cds! The guy got to carry an olympic torch. Am I in Rome? Yeah, this Boehm guy built a church near his house and this was painted on his ceiling. Our cool tour hats. Lots of chocolate. Yeah, who wouldn't want to take a lick? Even more chocolate. And my sister. And now the BEST for LAST!! My most favorite part of the trip. . . . We went here. . .. to see THIS!! WICKED!! It was awesome! The music was just amazing and of course the actors too! It was so worth seeing!
