Family Vacation 2013

This trip was in the plan for 2 years. Mostly because it was all for a family reunion that my parents were in charge of and they really wanted their kids to come and offered to pay for all the hotels...sure we'll go! Since we had school off for 2 1/2 days we extended the family reunion trip to make it our family trip for the year. We had so much fun! And the family reunion really topped it off!

First stop: Las Vegas! Stayed with Jerek's sister, Tara, and her husband, Jamie. Our first night there, Em got sick. All. night. Long. So we stayed at their house for the day. Thank goodness no one else got it and we were ready to play when Monday rolled around. We went to Adverturedome in Circus Circus. We were pretty much the only ones there so yah for no waiting in lines! We had such a great time.

While in Vegas, we also saw the fountains at Bellagio. And went to Halloween Town. 

Next stop, Grand Canyon! We swung by the Hoover Dam on our way. It was late at night but I think I got a pretty good shot.

The Grand Canyon was beautiful!! And so COLD! As we were hiking down into the canyon, it started to snow. Didn't stick, thank goodness, but it was so cold.... Our favorite part was hiking.

And then from there we went to Zion's National Park. Which is just as equally beautiful! We meet up with all the family and went trick-or-treating in the Hotel! Super fun with all their cousins!

It was so beautiful there and so WARM! We had a GREAT family trip and being with extended family made it even better!

6?!

I have to laugh because Addi could not remember how old she was going to be on her birthday! It was 8 for awhile and then 7. For the life of her she could not remember what came after 5. She got it down, thank goodness, before the big day. All she wanted to do was play. all. day. With friends. At school. With family. All day. Good thing there was no school after her big day. We sure love her and her fun personality.

11!!

Happy day for Em! I couldn't be more proud of this girl. She's a great example to her siblings. A great example of friendship, learning the gospel, reading, being fun...

Em loves to read. She is not afraid of trying something new. She knows the gospel and I love seeing her testimony grow and the depth of her questions about it. I love you Em! Keep up the smiles!

Here's September

Soccer, soccer, and more soccer. Twice a week for Em plus once a week for Blake equals two games a Saturday. Add in homework, scouts, activity day, piano, and dance and that is one full schedule a week. See why I love summers so much?? I'm a very fair weather mom. If it is cold, I opt out of practice and/or games. I do not enjoy sitting in the cold or rain to watch sports. Just not my thing. Thank goodness we have lucked out on the weather so far. But we are only half way done!

This month we have celebrated Em's 11th birthday. That's right. 11!! Jerek's birthday was two days later. Labor day weekend was spend in Declo with my sister and her family. We went boating one day and fishing in the rain the next. (gotta love Idaho) It was fun to see my kids on the knee board and also Jerek who totally rocked it! And then we had girls weekend. Fitone race with my girls, my mom, and my sister. Ultimate fun days. The older girls and I went to Austenland. Hilarious! A must see with a bunch of girls!

I have started and finished a project. One of my favorite projects so far. The 10' closet in the basement is no longer an eye sore! I made from scratch my own design barn doors. 5' doors to cover the closet. I put them on a rail system and they turned out better than I imagined. Behind the doors is storage! Everything from my guest room is now behind doors! (Those of you that have stayed in the "Anderson Suite" are about to upgrade your stay!) Pictures to come.....
