Especially when it is something you need?
And have spent countless hours in search of the perfect one?
Ha! Well, this week I just happened to find TWO good deals for myself. YEAH!
Anyway, this is a story in and of itself. Two weeks ago, our microwave blew up: A fire inside the top part and smoke coming out and up into our ventilation. Our house smelled so bad of electrical smoke and there was a lot of smoke upstairs from the fan being on. Emmalee, who has had recent lessons on what to do in a fire, was a little freakished out. I think she forgot the first part of the lesson of what to do in a fire. Stay calm!! "Get on the floor! We have to get out of the house! Don't open the door it might be hot!" Anyway, we all survived. :)
I was at Walmart a week later doing my shopping when I thought I would just look to see if they even carried under-hood microwaves. They did. They had one. On clearance for $170. I hadn't shopped around at all. I thought it was a good price, but didn't know for sure. I wrote down the deminsions that I needed but ended up leaving them at home. So I decided to buy it anyway and bring it back if it didn't fit or if I couldn't find a better deal. (Since it was the only one they had.) So I got in line to buy it and guess what??! It rung up at $75!! Now I knew that was a GREAT deal and only hoped that it would fit. And it does.

(It just isn't in yet. :) )
My second good deal of the week: a dresser! I have been looking off and on for a white chest dresser for Emmalee's room for quite some time. I've mostly been looking on craigs list, knowing that I would probably end up having to paint. I was at the DI and saw this white dresser that was perfect for a little girls room. It looked like it needed some paint touch ups and some of the drawers didn't pull out very well. But it looked like it was solid wood. I went home and stewed about it, looked on craigs list again, and decided to go back and if they still had it, I would get it. Well, they did so I bought it. It ended up being a great deal! Solid wood! And all the scuffs and funny marks on it came off with a little Ajax! Yeah! So I won't have to repaint it! And the drawers ended up being unattached so they just needed to be adjusted.
Here's some of the scuffs on it.

A little scrubbing and cleaning. . . .The finished project!

I think Emmalee is happy to have something to put her clothes in. (I think Addi is happy too.)
